Responsibilities & Requirements
The Patient Educator position duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Community Outreach Department with organizing, implementing and maintaining wellness activities by utilizing their professional knowledge and experience as it relates to their field of expertise
- Regularly participate in and promote wellness programs, including public presentations, with concentration on health promotion, disease prevention, screenings and lifestyle modification
- The Patient Educator will refer clients as needed to KHN physicians and services and will track and measure outcomes as mandated
- Will act as the liaison at events and will promote and use service lines in the development of programs specifically designed to meet the needs of the community
- The Patient Educator will regularly enhance knowledge base by staying current in health information provided by nationally recognized health organizations
- The Patient Educator is highly motivated with the ability to work independently of others
- Regularly participates in and promotes wellness programs, including public presentations, with concentration on health promotion, disease prevention, screenings and lifestyle modification
Job Requirements
- Assocaite's degree
- Registered Nurse (Current Ohio nursing license)
- Current BLS /CPR certification
- One or more years of medical office experience
- Minimum of six months clinical nursing experience
- Computer literate and very strong with Excel, Word and Outlook
- Requires the ability to lift 30-50 pounds as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with biometric screenings
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Public speaking, teaching and/or mentoring experience
- Previous experience in Community Health, Health Promotion, or Social Work
- Excellent organization and communication skills
