Responsibilities & Requirements
JOB SUMMARY
Manages the pharmacy infusions operations at the network oncology centers and the SV Infusion Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manages the infusion center pharmacists, technicians,and other staff members
• Responsible for working with medical and clinical pharmacy staff to launching clinical initiatives designed toimprove overall patient care and managing drug expense
• Responsible for working with oncology team in launching patient care related projects
• Serves as a resource to the organization and medical staff on oncology and infusion matters
• Assists in the development and review of medication-use pharmacy and hospital- and system-level policies,and their implementation
• Guides the design, implementation, and maintenance of oncology initiatives within the organization
• Monitors the external environment for best practices and evaluates them for implementation in theorganization
• Provides direction for prioritization of the organization’s infusion projects
• Works with rev cycle and finance to maximize infusion reimbursement
• Facilitates or develops a structured approach for employee orientation and training for the clinical pharmacystaff
• Provides ongoing pharmacy education for pharmacy staff and other health care professionals
• Facilitates availability of educational programs and materials to improve clinical outcomes and regulatorycompliance
• Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary hospital, health system, and regional committees relatedto emergency medications, drug shortages, adverse events, medication errors, policy review, technology, safemedication use, and patient safety
• Analyzes data that can be used to improve overall medication value and effectiveness.
• Works with state colleges of pharmacy for promoting the student and pharmacy residency experience.
Minimum Education
Graduate with a R.Ph or Pharm D. degree
Required Licenses
[Ohio, United States] Pharmacist
Licensed as, or eligible to be, a registered pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Work Experience
Five years of pharmacy management experience preferred
Three year’s experience working with infusion services
Current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing pharmacists
