Responsibilities & Requirements
The Nuclear Medicine lead technologist is responsible for the assurance of quality in all nuclear medicine imaging procedures for Kettering Health Dayton and Kettering Health Washington Township. Reports to the Manager of Nuclear Medicine and Director. Responsible efficient operations of day to day patient schedules, supply orders and staff schedules. The lead tech will follow protocols and remain up to date with network and industry changes in imaging protocols and attend monthly Modality/IAC meetings to collaborate with KH nuclear medicine protocols. Lead tech will assist in audits for RAM license requirements and monthly film badge collection. Lead tech will work with director and manager to monitor time and attendance, flex time and patient volumes. May occasionally be involved in EMR, PACS and other software improvement projects as requested. Clearly communicates and introduces new procedures to department. Report compliance risks to leadership. Serve as an expert resource to staff. Collaborates with Nuclear Medicine and radiation safety staff to record QA measures, educate technologists as needed. Works under the director and network nuclear medicine manager to evaluate new processes and equipment for performance and safety. Maintains overall all efficient workflow of department and schedules personnel as needed. Participates in recruitment and retention practices under the direction of manager and director. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Licenses
[Ohio, United States] Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Required Certification in Nuclear medicine (ARRT(N) or NMTCB)
Required current Radiologic license by the state of Ohio.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical nuclear medicine and/or PET required. Experience with SPECT/CT and PET/CT preferred. Preferred, management or supervisory experience, minimum 2 years.
Required Skills
BLS required
Two years of nuclear medicine and/or PET experience required. Two years supervisory experience preferred. Possess leadership abilities including staff utilization and effective delegation as well as organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Work hours can be irregular with the need to accept after hours call-in and overtime work. Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiate independent action. Able to work well with others and foster a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
Minimum Education
Associates Degree Required. Graduate of approved nuclear medicine program related to nuclear medicine. Preferred Bachelor’s degree related to nuclear medicine or healthcare management.
