Responsibilities & Requirements

A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed professional who assists in the provision of physical therapy treatments, including the provision of patient education and instruction, under the supervision of a physical therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant keeps the physical therapist updated on how the patient is progressing and responding to treatment and documents the information. Major tasks and duties include, but are not limited to: direct patient care, day to day patient scheduling, consultation with physicians, Physical Therapist and other team members, documentation in the electronic medical record, quality assurance and performance improvement(QAPI), clinical education, guest relations, and billing for patient services rendered an other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Education
Graduation from an accredited school for physical therapist assistant required.
 
Required Licenses
[Ohio, United States] Physical Therapy Assistant
Must be licensed by the State of Ohio.
 
Required Skills
CPR certified.

Ability to perform therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care.

Ability to communicate with supervising physical therapist, patients, physicians and staff.

Ability to delegate appropriate treatment activities to supportive personnel.

Knowledge of and ability to use therapy equipment.

Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, documentation in electronic medical record.

Has good interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask.
