Responsibilities & Requirements

To facilitate the efficient operation of the functions that support KH construction projects through leadership and management oversight to ensure timely delivery of all phases of KH’s CIP construction projects, misc projects, and facility upgrades. Working under the guidance of the executive director of construction management to execute programming, planning, design and construction. Activating and fulfilling objectives as well as monitoring performance and compliance. The construction manager serves as a liaison between clients, users, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other jurisdictional agencies to bring maximum value to KH projects.

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree or (5) years’ experience in healthcare construction

Minimum Work Experience

  • Two (2) years of progressive responsibilities and directly related property or construction management and experience with project management work experience to include healthcare and leadership experience.

Required Skills

Must possess a thorough understanding of construction and project management in a healthcare environment including: project budgeting, planning, critical-path scheduling and budget variance analysis; contract review and negotiation; architecture and engineering; organization and planning.

  • Knowledge of healthcare industry and familiarity with the needs and complexities of a comprehensive healthcare network and an understanding and vision of capital planning and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently, excellent organizational and delegation skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and gain cooperation with widely diverse groups within and outside the organization
  • Experience leading and managing change in a large and complex organization
  • Collaborative, team oriented and team builder. The ability to build trust, consensus and develop collaborative relationships with healthcare constituent groups
  • Ability to bring “best practice” approach to processes and procedures and enhance service orientation for construction project management
  • Ability to budget, make financial projections and write reports
  • Ability to handle potentially sensitive situations by applying consultative skills when working with internal and external constituent groups
  • Experience using e-Builder or other capital or construction management software
  • Skilled in using computer software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Resourceful, self-directing, and able to flourish in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
